The issue with the sugar cane workers is the terrible sweating that leads to kidney failure. Eager young teenagers begin work but then are dead by their mid to late twenties. The World Sugar Cane Council has developed initiatives to set up drink stations at the end of each row. When water was offered it was declined due to taste and temperature. Shade cloths were erected and cordial added to good effect. It’s a tragedy that this all had to wait until now to happen. Thank you for your discussion
